How to use the SERP checker
- Enter the keyword you want to rank for.
- Pick the country and device. Mobile and desktop results can differ.
- Study the organic results: what type of page ranks (guides, lists, product pages, tools), how titles are framed and which sites appear repeatedly.
- Note the search features. A results page with an AI Overview, videos or a large People also ask box changes how much attention the organic links get.
Our guide to analyzing Google search results for SEO explains what to look for.
Organic results and search features
Organic positions count only the regular web results. Features such as AI Overviews, featured snippets, People also ask, videos, top stories, local packs and related searches are listed separately and are not counted as organic positions. Ads are not shown.
Each check shows when it was made ("SERP checked"). Titles and snippets are shown as supplied by our data provider, with links to the original pages.
Privacy and your data
- Unlike our browser-only writing tools, this tool needs a server: the keyword you enter is sent to WriterFlowLab's server and to DataForSEO, our SEO data provider, to return these results.
- The keyword is not added to the page address, saved in your browser or sent to Google Analytics. Our analytics only record that a search happened, which tool was used and the country selected.
- Results are cached on our server for up to 18 hours, so a repeated check within that time shows the earlier result and its original check time. The cache holds the keyword with its results and is deleted when it expires.
- To apply the free daily limit, our server keeps a one-way hashed version of your IP address (not the address itself) for up to three days. No account or email address is needed.
Like the rest of the site, this page also uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described in our privacy policy.
