How to use the backlink checker
- Enter a domain (such as example.com) to check the whole site, or a full URL to check one page.
- Start with referring domains: the number of different websites linking to you usually says more than the raw backlink count.
- Review the top backlinks and anchor text to see who links and how they describe the site.

About the metrics
- Backlinks: links from other websites pointing to the target.
- Referring domains: the number of different websites those links come from.
- Nofollow links: links marked rel="nofollow", which ask search engines not to treat the link as an endorsement.
- DataForSEO Rank: DataForSEO's own link-based score on a 0–1000 scale. It is not Moz Domain Authority or any other company's metric.
Backlink data is supplied by DataForSEO's backlink index, a third-party database. WriterFlowLab does not maintain its own web-scale link index. Every provider crawls the web differently, so counts vary between tools.
Privacy and your data
- Unlike our browser-only writing tools, this tool needs a server: the domain or URL you enter is sent to WriterFlowLab's server and to DataForSEO, our SEO data provider, to return these results.
- The domain or URL is not added to the page address, saved in your browser or sent to Google Analytics. Our analytics only record that a search happened and which tool was used.
- Results are cached on our server for up to 24 hours so that repeating the same check does not request the data again. The cache holds the domain or URL with its results and is deleted when it expires.
- To apply the free daily limit, our server keeps a one-way hashed version of your IP address (not the address itself) for up to three days. No account or email address is needed.
Like the rest of the site, this page also uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, as described in our privacy policy.
