SEO Site Audit

Run a quick technical SEO check on up to 25 pages of a website. Get an overall health summary and a list of errors, warnings and notices, each with the affected URLs, why it matters and how to fix it.

The website you enter is sent to WriterFlowLab's server and our SEO data provider (DataForSEO), whose crawler visits up to 25 public pages of the site. It is not added to the page address or sent to analytics.

This is a limited free audit: it crawls a small number of pages without running JavaScript, so it does not measure Core Web Vitals or page speed, and issues on pages outside the crawl are not shown. Checks are performed by DataForSEO's OnPage crawler.

What the audit checks

  • Links: pages returning 4xx or 5xx errors and pages that link to broken URLs.
  • Metadata: missing or duplicate title tags and meta descriptions, and titles that are unusually long or short.
  • Content structure: missing H1 headings, multiple H1s and longer pages without H2 subheadings.
  • Indexability: URLs blocked by robots.txt or noindex, canonical problems, and whether robots.txt and an XML sitemap were found.
  • Images: images without alt text.
  • HTTPS and redirects: certificate validity, HTTP to HTTPS redirects, links to HTTP URLs and redirect chains.

How the free audit works

When you start an audit, DataForSEO's OnPage crawler visits up to 25 internal pages of the site, starting from the home page, without running JavaScript. The results usually arrive within a minute. Each issue is labelled as an error, a warning or a notice, and grouped by category.

The on-page score is DataForSEO's own 0–100 optimisation score for the crawled pages. It is useful for tracking changes over time, not as an absolute grade.

Limitations

  • Only up to 25 pages are crawled, so issues on other pages are not shown.
  • JavaScript is not run, so content added by scripts may be missed.
  • The audit does not measure Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores or page speed.
  • Only public websites can be audited. Local, private-network and IP addresses are refused.
  • One free audit per day.

Privacy and your data

  • Unlike our browser-only writing tools, this tool needs a server: the website address you enter is sent to WriterFlowLab's server and to DataForSEO, our SEO data provider, to return these results.
  • The website address is not added to the page address, saved in your browser or sent to Google Analytics. Our analytics only record that a search happened and which tool was used.
  • DataForSEO's crawler visits the site's public pages. The site address and the finished report are kept on our server for up to seven days, and a completed report may be shown again for 24 hours if the same site is audited.
  • To apply the free daily limit, our server keeps a one-way hashed version of your IP address (not the address itself) for up to three days. No account or email address is needed.
